The 1, 2, and 3 of Non-Duality And Therapy

1. Recognising the peace of our non-dual nature isn't a means to avoid confronting psychological issues. If we find ourselves subtly using the peace of our non-dual nature to evade these issues, we essentially allow the ego to perceive spirituality as an escape route, thus perpetuating its hold.

2. Addressing our psychology without tapping into the peace of our non-dual nature isn't a route to attaining it. Merely dealing with the endless patterns of psychological suffering on a mental level won't suffice to attain the inherent peace that serves as the ultimate healing resource.

3. Embracing the peace and love of our non-dual nature provides the framework for lovingly addressing and healing the mind and body. This involves approaching them nonjudgmentally and acknowledging their defensive traits, both positive and negative, along with addictions, compulsions, traumas, depression, neurological traits, chronic fears, and tendencies.

Almost everyone alive harbours such tendencies. If they resurface after realising the peace of true nature, they should be embraced as chances for healing, not seen as obstacles or failures. These patterns can be resolved by bringing them into the compassionate awareness of consciousness and confronting them directly rather than avoiding them. They may resurface if the ego attempts to shield itself using the peace of true nature. Therefore, the guiding principle is to welcome these patterns as opportunities for growth and address them fearlessly. The patterns are usually triggered in connection to perceived threats to human needs for physical preservation, social security, and loss of transcendental connection. Seeking assistance is advisable sometimes, as sometimes welcoming these patterns non-judgmentally isn't sufficient, and specialised tools or therapy may be required and can often speed things up. Modern psychotherapy complements this process and should be integrated for comprehensive support.
